Fayetteville Golf Guide

Home of the University of Arkansas Razorbacks, Fayetteville has been named by Forbes magazine as one of the top five smaller towns to live and work in the U.S. It is therefore no surprise its golf facilities are good deals as well.

Cradled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains in the northwest corner of the state, the landscape is characterized by rolling hills, meandering streams and lakes. For the most part, the dozen or so public golf courses flow over fairly level terrain and there are just about as many nine hole courses as there are 18.

To get an idea of what golf is like here, tee up at Razorback Park Golf Course, the oldest course in Fayetteville (1958) and home to the Arkansas Razorback golf teams. It's a lovely track winding around groves of trees, lakes and streams with roll-up greens and wide fairways. With green fees from $20 walking, it's also a bargain.
With a 4.5 star ranking from Golf Digest, Stonebridge Meadows Golf Club designed by Randy Heckenkemper (1997) plays more than 7,100 yards with water coming into contention on several holes. With mild elevations and the hills as a backdrop, this is one of the must-play tracks in the area. Green fees are $39 to $55 including cart.

There are other decent 18 hole tracks in the area offering a pleasurable day of golf as well as a handful of nine-hole courses like the Links at Bentonville Golf & Athletic Club and the par 3 Lakeside Course, both managed by Lindsey, a real estate company.
